NorthSound Racing

Start your racing weekend early...

Northsound 1380 KRKO Radio is pleased to announce that the fifth season of Northsound Racing will begin on March 18th. Host and Producer Steve Mortland returns to the show, along with Tom Glithero and Sheree Berg. Northsound Racing is the only radio show dedicated to covering the vast motorsports scene in the Pacific Northwest, and continues to provide an outlet for race fans to discover other forms of racing entertainment.

Several changes have been put in place for the 2010 season of Northsound Racing. "We’ve made an offer to any race team in our coverage area to get a hold of us and let us know of any new sponsors that the teams have acquired in the off season" host Steve Mortland said recently. "It’s important to make the race fans aware of who’s coming on board. Anything we can do to sweeten the deal for racers and teams is a win-win thing. We will have a segment each week to get the word out about new sponsors and will attempt to interview the drivers and sponsors on the show. The same offer goes out to the tracks that we cover. We realize who makes this world go around."

The introduction of a new and improved www.northsoundracing.com is in the works as well. The site will have all the latest and up to date information on in regards to Northsound Racing, and KRKO’s coverage of NASCAR and Indy Racing League events throughout the season. Links to Northsound Racing advertisers, race teams and race facilities will be on the site, along with other features.

Northsound Racing will continue to be a supporter of the Stanwood-Camano Island Soap Box Derby, along with appearances at many other events throughout the season. Also new for this season, host Steve Mortland will be the announcer at the Wenatchee Valley Super Ovals new Big 5 series, along with being the radio voice of the Montana 200 in Kalispell, Montana. The Northsound Racing crew will travel to facilities all over the Pacific Northwest in 2010, giving listeners the most up to date coverage possible at their favorite tracks.

Northsound 1380 KRKO Radio continues to be the radio home for motorsports in the Pacific Northwest. KRKO enters its fifth year as a Motor Racing Network, Performance Racing Network affiliate, as well as the Indy Racing League Radio Network. Also returning for 2010 is the "Verizon Pit Reporters", which will air directly after Northsound Racing on Thursday nights from 10:00 to 11:00 PM. Northsound Racing will again be live Thursday nights from 8:00 to 10:00 PM, broadcasting on both KRKO and streaming live on www.northsound1380.com/listenlive.

Steve Mortland commented: "I know I say this every year, but I’m extremely exited about being involved with Northsound Racing! To have an outlet to bring listeners closer to their favorite racer or track, along with being able to provide a positive outlet for teams and tracks to get their particular message out is gratifying at the very least. To have Tom, Sheree and our Northsound Racing "Bureau Chief" Shane Biles back again for 2010 just makes it all that much better!"
